This interesting glass souvenir sheet stamp is the first ever glass stamp made for franking purposes. The glass stamp shows the very famous glass painting Pietà with Cross from the church of Sandl. The Sandl area is famous for their hinterglass paintings or reverse glass paintings, and this stamps was made using the old technique from the area.
