This royal succession coin continues the tradition of previous succession coins. On one side is a profile portrait of H.M. King Frederik 10., facing right. On the other side of the coin is H.M. Queen Margrethe 2. also pictured facing right. The portraits have been created by the sculturer Eva Hjorth, and the design is created by the Danish Central Bank's chief designer, Jeanette Skov. The last Danish royal succession coin was issued in 1972 when H.M. Queen Margrethe 2 succeeded H.M. King Frederik 9.
