Danish stamps from 1965, AFA 429-440 with fluorescent paper varieties, including Postal Ferry AFA 41. This year set reflects both historical and cultural themes. AFA 429 marks the 100th anniversary of Denmark's first business school, founded in Aarhus in 1865. This pioneering institution paved the way for a wave of business schools across the country. As a playful detail, engraver Czeslaw Slania hid the names of two colleagues in the accounting ledger on the stamp. AFA 434 marks 100 years of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), founded in 1865, the oldest UN agency, working globally with communication development. AFA 435 celebrates the 100th birthday of composer Carl Nielsen, whose work helped transition Danish music from Romanticism to Modernism. He grew up in a poor but musically rich environment on the island of Funen. AFA 438, theme: The ballet and music festival, shows Margrethe Schanne in the role of the Sylph, a classic figure in Danish ballet tradition. AFA 439F is a charity stamp, benefitting "Børnenes Kontor". An organisation supporting vulnerable children in Denmark through leisure activities and Christmas aid. AFA 440 are part of the Nature Conservation series, depicting the Bogø Mill, a Dutch-style windmill from 1852 that remained in operation until 1965.
