On 28 July 2025, Tusass Greenland celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jens Christian Rosing (1925-2008), known as the Grand Old Man of Greenlandic stamps. Rosing was a renowned Greenlandic artist, author, and cultural figure who created more Greenlandic stamp designs than anyone else, a record he still holds today. Born in Ilulissat and educated in Denmark, Rosing had a lifelong dedication to Greenlandic culture, which he expressed through books, films, and especially his artwork. His stamp designs reflect deep respect for Inuit traditions, wildlife, mythology, and the Arctic landscape. His first stamp in 1957, depicting the legend of the Mother of the Sea, marked the beginning of a rich artistic journey. To honour his legacy, a special issue was released on 28 July 2025: a commemorative stamp, a miniature sheet, a black print, a souvenir folder, and a prestige booklet. The new stamp and mini sheet are designed by Norwegian artist Martin Mörck, who has created the second highest number of Greenlandic stamps after Rosing.
