It was not until the Lateran Treaties of 1929 that the political and territorial relationship between Italy and the Vatican City State was defined. Among other concessions, the Vatican also received the right to issue its own coins. This unique booklet pays tribute to all the popes since the conclusion of the treaties. It contains eight 0 EUR notes, each with a depiction of Pope Pius XI, Pius XII, John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I, John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis, respectively. The notes are made from the original security paper of the EUR banknotes. In addition, the booklet contains interesting information about the popes
